My condolences to the family. As a student at Neilburg, I had the pleasure of taking Home Economics with Ms Olsen. I am sure we often drove her crazy, but we did look forward to the class. I have fond memories of those times.

Auntie Olwin
As the only girl in a family of six
You had to be wise to your brothers' tricks
From Esther Alberta where the weather was so dry
Came a time in life for the whole family to say goodbye
"Its green up north" the messages came
From uncles and cousins they were all the same
The wagons were loaded the journey began
To Neilburg!! and a new life, a new home and new land
You watched as three brothers - young men went to war
Two stayed to farm - watch over you and one more
All three returned home, a great blessing for all
A victory for which the family stood tall
To teach was your calling that brought no end of pleasure
As your students learned to see in education a treasure
When Uncle Rob began teaching and learning the trade
You were pleased you could help him get a passing grade.
My memories of you begin with summer scenes
Your invitation to go west and meet the Green's
Back at the farm Grandma, Uncle and you were three
But there was always room 'round the fire for me
A commerce degree may have gone by the way
Had Auntie Olwin's place not been there to stay!
Saskatoon's where I attended the great U of S
Thanks for not complaining when my room was a mess
Your wrecked car, some late nights, friends dropping by
There were probably some days you just needed a cry
These experiences all ended in the fall '72
You were leaving the city and Elaine and I were now two
Where did life take you in the years since flown by?
To Neilburg, Lloydminster, Abbotsford, and again Saskatoon to try
You had plans once more for Lloyd, but ran out of time
Traded life here for one that's sublime
We're glad for the gospel that brought a message of love
And the promise of Life with Him from above
Fellowship here is bound by time and space
While the eternal home's forever in God's Heavenly place
Gone but not forgotten
Thanks for the memories
Roy Olsen
