To Alvin's family Alvin while growing up was our neighbour and friend. He was a skilled hockey player. It was my privilege to coach him later in his teens. A couple of things we will always remember about Alvin in respect to hockey: his blistering slap shot, and his desire to play hard. He was a loyal unselfish player. There is one incident that is very personal which I wish to share. I made a comment early in the season that if our Juvinile Knights team won Provincials I would stand on my head at center ice at the end of the game! Alvin scored with his patented slap shot from center ice. We won Juvenile provincials. At the end of the game Alvin skates toward me on the bench ond motions with his hand to come to center ice to keep my committment! I complied. I write this with a great deal of emotion and an aging heavy heart. Our entire family extends our sincere condolences to Alvin's family on his untimely passing. God Bless all of you.
