I remember on one of the many visits to Lloydminster, we drove that Corvette to Thorpe's home. Norman insisted that the two cars get their picture taken together!
Marilyn always regretted taking the Corvette on trips - it just didn't hold enough fabric and yarn!

My condolences to all of the Thorpe family on the passing of Marilyn. She was such a special lady with so many creative talents that she shared with so many. The muffs that she made for my mother & other residents at Jubilee are an example. I enjoyed working with her during Fair days. She will be missed. Rest in peace Marilyn.

Marilyn had a very upbeat lifestyle, participated in many church and charitable activities, excelled in her sewing/quilting/knitting pastime; was often found at the pool. She cared for other people - taking wheelchair bound patients to events and to the mall; meaningful visits to the hospital, giving foot massages; and doing errands for those that were housebound. She taught sewing and quilting, always entering her projects in local fairs and coming out with many prizes. When they would visit, Marilyn always had a homemade gift to offer.
I am so glad that Jodi and I spent those four days with her, going through all of her very loved fabrics. She had a story for each scrap; and a project in mind for each piece, as we continued through the organization process. She got a lot of pleasure out of deciding which charity would benefit, or which friend could use it. On our departure, she still had in mind to finish a few projects; and Norm told me that her friend Carole Walker, did finish the quilt for her that was partly done.
Norm and Marilyn have been friends since high school, and I will miss her.
