Obituary of Leonard Steward

STEWARD~ Leonard James Steward passed away at the Lloydminster Hospital, Lloydminster, Saskatchewan on Monday, October 22, 2012 at the age of 93 years. Len will be sadly missed by: his loving companion & friend, Olga McLennan; three daughters and one son, Beverly (Wayne) Mitchell, Linda (Ron) Pilling, Barry (Sharon) Steward and Sharon Steward (Steve Hindman); one brother, Basil (Lil) Steward; as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Len was predeceased by his daughter Sandra Thrower, sister Kathleen Ahlfeld, brother Albert Steward, and grand daughter Kristen Merie Pilling. The funeral service for Len was conducted from St. John's Anglican Church on Monday, October 29, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Canon Michael Stonhouse officiating. The Eulogy was read by Ron Pilling. The solo "Amazing Grace" was sung by Marlene Risling, and the hymns sung were "Beyond The Sunset" and "The Old Rugged Cross" accompanied by organist Pat Skinner. The Honorary Pallbearers were Jim Crews, Johnny Wich, Ron Person, Raymond Williams, Noel Light, Keith Collinge, and Mark Weighill. The Active Pallbearers were Shawn Steward, Blaine Steward, Robbie Thrower, Jamie Thrower, John Devito, Roland Gobeil, and Bob Scott. The Interment was held in the Lloydminster City Cemetery followed by lunch at St. John's Anglican Church. Donations in memory of Leonard may be made to Ducks Unlimited or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation. McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster, Alberta administered the funeral arrangements.
