Obituary of Evelyn Perry
Please share a memory of Evelyn to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Evelyn Dorothy Perry (Nee Tadei) left us peacefully on April 8, 2010 at the Vermilion Continuing Care Center at the age of 84 years. Left to cherish the memories of a truly sweet and wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother are Alda (Ian) McGregor, Gavin Perry, Marvin (Nadine) Perry, Fayanne (Tim) Galloway, Michael, Mandy (Chad), Mitchell, Joshua, Kiran, Savannah and Cayden. A daughter Melynne Ann (1952) and her husband Garnet (2006) predeceased her.
Evelyn was born in Radisson Saskatchewan, Dec. 2, 1925. Evelyn attended school there until she joined the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce in Lashburn in 1944. She married Garnet Perry in 1949; Evelyn embraced her role as wife, mother with all her heart - her family meant everything to her. She raised four children, and worked tirelessly for her "customers" in Lashburn at the CIBC for a total of 26 years retiring in 1988. Evelyn supported the farm with hard work and her excellent cooking. Her children and grandchildren will never forget her cinnamon buns and the family meals that she prepared with love. Evelyn was the treasurer of St. James United Church in Lashburn for 25 years and was an active member of the United Church Women. After her retirement, Evelyn and Garnet ensured they took the time to attend all of their grandchildren's school and sporting activities. Evelyn chose to take an active role working in Marvin's photography business in Lloydminster using all of her book keeping and customer service experience. In her later years Evelyn received much joy from a beloved dog, miniature sheltie Brandie.
Evelyn lived her last few years in the community of Vermilion where the care she received in both Spruce House and Prairie Edge could not be surpassed. The family wishes to thank the staff that worked at each of these homes as their care and support made her final years ones of continued warmth and tenderness. We would also like to thank Dr. Stewart-Hunter for his support and care for Evelyn.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Canadian Alzheimer's Society. A private interment will take place at the Lashburn Cemetery.
