B I O G R A P H Y
JOHNSTON: Violet Mary Johnston passed away in the Maidstone Hospital on Thursday, October 21, 2004 at the age of 84 years.
Violet is survived by three children: Jim and his wife Cheryl of Maidstone; Sandra and her husband Roger Pederson of Outlook; Rick and his wife Karen of Maidstone; ten grandchildren: Jody (Brad) Freyman, Jaida, Tanner and Hunter; Jill (Darrin) Shumay; Jamie Johnston; Trenna (Barry) Derdahl, Kenzie and Landry; Mark (Jennifer) Pederson; Kirk (Nikki) and Kennedy; Kara (Kirk) and Devrie Newsted; Ryan Johnston; Tyler Johnston; and Troy Johnston; two brothers: Gord Donald and his wife Eleanor and Laurie and his wife Connie Donald both of Maidstone; three sisters: Elma Courtice of Belville, ON; Hazel Morrow of Vancouver, BC; Ella and her husband Len Erscott of Saskatoon; three sisters-in-law Cynthia Donald of Maidstone; Del Donald of Lashburn; Margurite Stoughton of Maidstone; one brother-in-law Jack Bullock of Maidstone.
Violet was predeceased by her husband Walter.
The funeral service for Violet was conducted from the Maidstone United Church with Reverend Ean Kasper officiating.
Hymns sung were Take My Life and Let It Be, Morning Has Broken, and In The Garden, accompanied by Frances Peterson and Frances Wright.
Active pallbearers were: Ryan Johnston, Tyler Johnston, Troy Johnston, Jamie Johnston, Mark Pederson and Kirk Pederson.
Interment followed in the Maidstone Cemetery.
McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster administered the funeral arrangements.

The family of Vi Johnston wish to express their appreciation to all who sent cards, flowers, food and cash donations to us at this difficult time. We are most grateful for the tender care the hospital staff and Dale and Dave McCaw provided. Our thanks to Ean Kasper, Frances Peterson, Frances Wright, the choir and the U.C.W. A very special thanks to the grandsons who acted as pallbearers and the granddaughters for their meaningful readings.
