In 1941 he married Jean Allan. They moved to Golburn in 1949 where they farmed until John became a grain buyer for the Sask Wheat Pool in Golburn, Arborfield and Venn. John was active in the community, serving on the School Board, Church Board and coaching minor sports.
John and Jean moved to Lloydminster in 1969 where they were in business in Johnnies Serving Center and the Hobby Shop until their retirement in 1988.
John enjoyed time spent with his family in any way he could. He spent many hours building radio control models to fly with his children and grandchildren. He loved to spend time in his shop keeping his mind and hands busy with many woodworking projects.
He always had a twinkle in his eye and a smile on his face. We will miss him dearly.
