B I O G R A P H Y
PIERCE: Rose Alma Alvina Denise Pierce passed away in the Jubilee Home, Lloydminster, Saskatchewan on Monday, October 10, 2005 at the age of 91 years.
Alvina is survived by: nine children: Nora Hay of Saskatoon; Ernie Pierce and his wife Helen of Lashburn; Mike Pierce of Oliver, BC; Ron Pierce and his wife Bev of Lloydminster; Sarah Pierce of Edmonton; Dee and her husband Dave Collinge of Rapid View; Lorna and her husband Roland Dussault of Niton Junction, AB; Nick Pierce and his wife Mel of Lloydminster and John Pierce and his wife Rose also of Lloydminster; eighteen grandchildren; thirty-eight great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law Ruth Stone of St. Walburg and Milda Briere of Battleford as well as numerous other relatives.
Alvina was predeceased by her son Art in 1993 and her husband Bill in 2000.
The funeral service for Alvina was conducted from the Lashburn Community Hall, Lashburn, Saskatchewan on Friday, October 14, 2005 at 10:30 A.M. with Reverend Terry Wiebe officiating.
Hymns sung were The Old Rugged Cross, and The Church In The Wildwood, accompanied on the organ by Lorna Chappell.
Ron Pierce gave the eulogy and read a poem written by John. Blake Flora gave a tribute on behalf of the grandchildren.
Honorary Pallbearers were all those in attendance.
Active pallbearers were: Ernie Pierce, Mike Pierce, Ron Pierce, Nick Pierce, John Pierce, Dave Collinge and Roland Dussault.
Interment followed in the Lashburn Cemetery.
McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster administered the funeral arrangements.
