B I O G R A P H Y POPE: William Laverne “Verne” Pope passed away in the Lloydminster Hospital, Lloydminster, Saskatchewan on Saturday, December 17, 2005 at the age of 90 years. Verne is survived by: one daughter Sharon and her husband Kayo Thor; two grandchildren: Sherry and her husband Art Tupper and Allen Thor and his wife Michelle; six great grandchildren: Joni, Shayna, Marshel and Gage Tupper, Logan and Trevor Thor all of Marwayne, Alberta; his special friend Grace Marsh of Tulliby Lake as well numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Verne was conducted from the Marwayne Community Hall, Marwayne, Alberta on Thursday, December 22, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Bob Aldrich officiating. A eulogy was given by Dan Coulson and Sylvia Milne. Hymns sung were “Amazing Grace,” and “The Old Rugged Cross,” accompanied on the organ by Barbara Brind. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Masonic Lodge and all his family and friends. Active pallbearers were: Jodi Kissick, Bob Milne, Henry Keichinger, Brad George, Roy Young and Ian Shaw. Interment followed in the Marwayne Cemetery. McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster administered the funeral arrangements. Card of Thanks The family of Verne Pope would like to thank the Doctor’s, nurses and hospital staff. Reverend Bob Aldrich for the lovely service and Barbara Brind for the music, Dan and Sylvia for the eulogy, the pallbearers and the ladies for the great lunch. Thank you to everyone who sent cards, flowers, donations, food and for the visits and phone calls and to McCaw Funeral Service. Thank you again.
