Ruth Frances was born on January 29, 1937 and grew up outside of Elk Point, Alberta. She studied nursing in Calgary and worked with her cousin around Alberta ending up in Lloydminster. She was living there in the nurses residence when she and Donnie met. They married on December 12, 1959 and began their life together in Lloydminster farming and ranching North of town, raising a family together and taking time to travel, which Ruth loved. Their house and yard was a source of pride. Ruth was known as a splendid cook, a great gardener and loved to entertain. Ruth was a great mother and was known as fun grandma by her grandchildren. Ruth was very lucky to have the support of her children and a wealth of friends that spent time with her while she was convalescing.
The family would like to say a special thanks to all those who helped: Doris Napper, for staying over and sharing her sense of humor; Doreen Desrosiers, for keeping the cookie jar full and the many meals; Gordie and Jackie McGinnis for the time they spent and the gracious care they gave Ruth.
Heartfelt thanks to Ruths special friends for their support and guidance - Janice Milan and Don Hannah and to Sylvia Babey and Marie Hines for always being there.
Also to all Ruths other friends and family who stopped in and bolstered her spirits a heartfelt thanks.
The family of Ruth would like to thank Dale Block for officiating at the funeral service and Yvette Barnett for her tremendous musical talent which added so much to the service.
