Edith Anne Hardy of Lloydminster, Saskatchewan passed away on September 26 in the Lloydminster Hospital at the age of 85. Edith is survived by her loving husband Thomas Hardy, son Albert of Maidstone, SK; son David and his wife Linda of Marshall, SK; daughter Marion and her husband Walter Newman of Lloydminster, SK; son-in-law George Erickson, eight grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, two step great grandchildren, sister Kay Scott and her husband Harold of Maidstone, SK. Edith was predeceased by her daughter Carol Erickson in January of 2004. Memorial service for Edith Hardy was held at the St. Andrews Anglican Church in Maidstone on September 29, 2006 with Reverend David Turvey officiating. Hymns sung were “The Old Rugged Cross,” “Bringing In The Sheaves,” and “The Church In The Wildwood.” Special music “Come to the Garden,” was sung by Tracy & Marion. A eulogy was given by Walter Newman. THE CROSS IN MY POCKET I carry a Cross in my pocket, a simple reminder to me of the fact that I am a Christian no matter where I may be. This little Cross is not magic, nor is it a good luck charm. It isn't meant to protect me from every physical harm. It's not for identification for all the world to see. It's simply an understanding between my Savior and me. When I put my hand in my pocket to bring out a coin or key, the Cross is there to remind me of the price He paid for me. It reminds me, too, to be thankful for my blessings day by day and strive to serve Him better in all that I do and say. It's also a daily reminder of the peace and comfort I share with all who know my master and give themselves to His care. So, I carry a Cross in my pocket reminding no one but me, that Jesus Christ is Lord of my life if only I'll let Him be. “Mom carried this in her purse for years.” Card of Thanks A special thank you to all the nurses and staff at the Jubilee Home and Lloydminster Hospital. Also a special thank you to Reverend David Turvey for officiating and his kind words. Thank you to all the friends and relatives for all the support given to the family. Thanks to McCaw’s for their compassion and kindness, to all the ladies at the Anglican Church that provided and served lunch.
