Below is a poem written by her granddaughter Jenna that was read during the eulogy:
"Everywhere you turn, you'll here people always say… Grannie was full of thoughtfulness in each and every way. You may not think it's true, but it's definitely true to us, Grannie was good in many ways, but this comes from real trust. When we came flying through the door, O' so happy to greet her, she'd always say before we spoke… "Who's there?" she'd reply questioning, with open ears. So when we springed down the hall, racing to wake her up, she'd slowly get up herself and settle with coffee in a cup. A few years ago I bought a beautiful doll, Grannie thought it was marvelous and wanted to buy them all. That's how I remember her in every little way, I hope you will remember this because I will every day. Grannie was a very generous, young, and lovable woman. She was very confident and was always happy to see us! I loved her createofness and how she put all her effort into everything especially the 5 lakes in Jasper. I wanted her to stay and visit everyday now. I even miss her drinking coffee. But the thing I wanted most was her to be in peace. We know that she has found peace now in heaven and she will watch over us. So thank you Grannie for being you! Love Jenna."
Bernice will be sadly missed by all who knew her, as she touched the lifes of many as a coach, teacher, and family friend.
